Run-In Questions
tends The Premier League marathon to a close. A number of questions remain, however, two games remaining still unanswered.
Title run-in
Can Man United take the title of the championship record for himself at last in Anspurch? Fergie will then, after he has reached his ultimate goal (Liverpool from this very throne to push), to retire? Or thwarted Chelsea's plans?
The most crucial match of the season take place on Sunday at Anfield. If Chelsea slip up there, to be United - can not take the title - with games in Sunderland (at the old mate Steve Bruce) and against Stoke. Get the Blues the three points are, the signs reversed (it follows the home match against Wigan). Liverpool thus plays the crucial role in this year's master race - but in another context, had introduced himself as the Rafael Benitez. On the one hand, a disaster season ends, the other hand, helps you track either Chelsea or Man United crowned the Premiership's most successful. And is accordingly the own proud record. Either way, the 2 May is the Reds hurt.
My prediction: Chelsea for the title. a very interesting article on Carlo Ancelotti's first year as coach at the Bridge, there are way here.
Fourth Spot Run-In
I had made in March my mind to fight for the remaining Champions League place . for me are realistically only the Spurs and Man City in the race. The games that you should consider are, therefore, City's home games against Villa (tomorrow Saturday) and the direct duel against the Spurs (Wednesday). Villa and Liverpool, I expect to only an outside chance. Where we would already be the next topic: What happened to Rafa Benitez? A dismissal would be the club still dearly. The premature departure of the Spaniard to Italy (Juventus) would be the best solution for club and coach. For Benitez admits that he hardly felt the backing of the club management. too, is addressed in the above Times article.
My prediction: City for fourth. I stick to it! And Benitez makes the elegant finish to sunny Italy.
Otherwise? In midfield, there are some uninteresting battles, below everything has been resolved: Pompey, Burnley and (happens if no surprise) Hull goodbye towards Championship and the Newcastle, West Brom and a team from Quintet Nottingham Forest, Cardiff, Leicester , Swansea and Blackpool replaced. And the Hammers stay on top.
It remains perhaps the question of Manager of the Year . Ancelotti? Hodgson? Redknapp? Let us be honest. Chelsea will be champions, Ancelotti makes the race. If he refused the title, he is the idiot. Let us therefore stay away from a hot discussion unnecessarily .... Instead, have a short laugh at the end, a small display for us hobby kicker. An article that confirms that everything is possible for us. Everything!
